This project represents an authentic recreation of a Bucks County farmhouse in the spirit of renowned architect Brognard Oakie. Oakie, an American architect noted for his recreation of George Washington's house and his restoration of the Betsy Ross house in Philadelphia, also designed dozens of Pennsylvania farmhouses in the 1920s and 30s. Inspired by his commitment to historical accuracy and meticulous attention to detail, the home features many trademark Oakie features such as a chunky pediment over the front door, dormer windows on the second floor, lanterns on shelf brackets, and lots of custom hardware. Working closely with Bucks County designers, we sourced materials of the highest quality to complete this project, including millwork and moldings from North Carolina and reclaimed timbers from central Pennsylvania.
